Apple Day

Apple Day this year proved to be a wonderful community event attended by more people than ever.
The Celtic music of Helen Manning and friends and Geoff Wass's extraordinary performances kept everyone entertained as they enjoyed homemade cakes and freshly pressed apple juice or browsed the stalls. Children decorated trees, bobbed for apples and concentrated on producing the longest apple peel to win a prize.
After the upset of the summer, when many trees were vandalised, this felt like a confirmation that the orchard will continue to thrive.
Thank you to the many people who helped out on the day, baked cakes or worked during the year to maintain our community orchard - it's a special place worth celebrating.
